Workshop Description


The workshop will be structured into a series of four lectures presented by invited experts in the field of magnetic neutron scattering, and a hands-on session where attendees will be assisted by the organizers.

Lecture and tutorial sessions will cover:
  • Application of group theory
    to magnetic structure determination.
     
  • Developments in refinement techniques and strategies for solving magnetic structures.
     
  • Description of the capabilities supported by the Fullprof software.
  • General principles and practical applications of polarized neutron diffraction techniques

    • Spherical neutron polarimetry (SNP)
    • Flipping ratio method for magnetization density reconstruction

  • Practical demonstrations on how to solve and refine magnetic structures from neutron powder diffraction data.
