DREEBIT is a small German startup-company which develops ion sources for the production of highly charged ions. Our portfolio includes three generations of room-temperature sources and one superconducting helium-free version. All sources work highly stable and at low operation cost. The “Dresden EBIT/EBIS” ion sources supply bare ions for elements with an atomic number of up to 28, helium-like ions for ions such as krypton and neon-like ions for high-Z elements. DREEBIT also develops ion beam diagnostic devices (Faraday Cups, Emittance Meter) and ion optical components (like WienFilter, lenses, deflectors and deceleration systems).

Highly charged ions (HCI) store a large amount of potential energy as a result of the ionization process. Applications like focused ion beam (FIB), time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS) and cancer therapy with ions make use of the outstanding new properties, highly charged ions provide.
