Materials Irradiation & HFIR
As part of this workshop a discussion of experimental and modeling resources available to Irradiation Sciences researchers will be discussed. One resource for the proposed user facility would be the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) at ORNL, along with the radiological examination facilities. Currently, the (HFIR) is operated as a BES user facility for neutron scattering research and a suite of analytical equipment is also available for the study of radioactive materials. Attendees can familiarize themselves with some of the available resources by linking to the URL below. It is expected that the workshop will discuss the range of irradiation sources, modeling needs, and analytical equipment required across the Office of Science complex needed to meet the future demands of Irradiation Sciences users.
