First Data at the Backscattering Spectrometer at SNS |
The first data taken was at low flux and measured with a diffraction detector bank in addition to the backscattering detectors. A screenshot was taken while looking at the diffraction detector 8-pack of 3He filled Linear Position Sensitive Detector tubes (LPSDs) set up around a Mica sample. (The diffraction bank is the right-most bank of the blue plot of the detector banks.) Samples of Kapton, fluorinated mica, and silicon have been measured for structural and tunneling information.
