The SNS Magnetism Reflectometer on Beam Line 4A received neutrons for the first time on July 20, 2006.  Since then we have been testing and calibrating instrument components and software, as well as collecting initial scientific data including polarization measurements, reflectivity measurements using polarized beam on calibration and scientific samples and other reflectivity measurements using un-polarized neutrons on calibration samples. We anticipate receiving and installing sample environment equipment in May 2007, and look forward to temperature and magnetic field dependant studies of magnetic systems, and beam powers exceeding 100 kilowatts at 30 Hz,  beginning in September 2007.  Click on the PDF links below to read some of our operational highlights.
