Lsp is a 3-D (as well as 2-D and 1-D), parallelized electromagnetic code for plasma simulation using the particle-in-cell (PIC) method. The code has a user-friendly graphical interface with 3-D rendering for problem setup, and a powerful post-processor based on IDL (www.rsinc.com). Current L sp users are applying the software to:

• High-current electron and ion accelerators

• Intense X-ray sources

• Intense laser-plasma interaction

• Charged particle beam transport in gases and plasmas

• Gas discharges

In addition to standard electromagnetic PIC algorithms, the code has implicit field and particle algorithms. It also treats fluid equations, Coulomb and neutral-particle collisions, ionization, surface heating and desorption and electron transport in materials.

Platforms: Windows XP, Linux, Mac OS X, UNIX, Multiprocessors with MPI
