Answering the Question, “ What are your remote power supplies doing?” The PSC-PSI provides isolated, long distance remote, precision analog and digital control and readback for power supplies. It was developed by Apogee Labs under contract from BNL for the accumulator ring magnet power supplies at SNS. In addition to providing an isolated, self contained, easy to install unit at each power supply capable of being controlled remotely from a great distance, the system met the labs requirement for a “Standard Interface” that could be used to support power supplies from many manufacturers. As this commonality vastly simplifies logistics, support, and software control requirements, the PSC-PSI is ideal for large and complex deployments using multiple power supplies. If you take the tour Saturday, you may see the units at SNS. BEP-II at IHEP, CAS, Beijing PRC is a recent large deployment of the PSC-PSI as well.
