World Year of Physics 2005

OCEM

With 60 years experience, OCEM acts as a leader in the technological evolution of the Power Converters requested by the most advanced international physics centres and laboratories, particularly in the field of the Particle Accelerators for biomedical research and the Experimental Fusion Reactors.

Up to now, we have already designed, manufactured and commissioned:

  • Current Regulators for Conventional and Superconducting magnets;
  • Power Converters and Modulators for High Voltage loads, i.e. gyrotrons, klystrons, IOTs, RFs, ion pumps, tetrodes, diacrodes;
  • Special Custom devices for superconducting magnet protection, Solid State Switches, Converters for SMES, etc…

Characterized by:

  • Current: from mA to 30.000 A;
  • Voltage: from mV to 100.000 V;
  • Power: up to 10MW (continuous) e 70MW (pulsed);
  • Stability: up to 10 -6 (1ppm);
  • Technology: MOSFET, IGBT, IGCT/GTO, SCR, BJT, vacuum tubes;
  • Regulation: linear, MPWM (Multi Pulse Width Modulation), Double Resonant, PSM (Pulsed Step Modulation);
  • Control: analogue, digital by micro-processor and DSP.

An increasing know how fed by a dynamic R&D and the new challenges recalled by the most advanced science investigations, ensure a continuous and accelerated innovation over the present and future goals and objectives.
