Synopsis
As
instruments are being designed
for the High Flux Isotope
Reactor, Spallation Neutron
Source, and other neutron
sources, there is an unprecedented
opportunity to provide superior
data analysis software capabilities
for scientific users. The
NeSSI workshop will be held
in Oak Ridge, Tennessee,
on October 13-15, 2003, to
begin the process of defining
the goals of data analysis
software and supporting network
technologies.
Scientific
users are invited to contribute
their ideas about:
- Data
analysis
- Data
reduction and manipulation
- Data
storage and management
- Remote
and local access and controls
- Distributed
computing, and
- Grid
and networking services
Software
demonstrations will be an
integral role in NeSSI as
illustrative examples of
innovative uses of software
in data analysis, visualization,
and management.
