Janell I Thomson

Bio

Janell Thomson is the Manager for the User Program Office in the Neutron Sciences Directorate, which supports both the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) and the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR). Key components of the User Program include:

- Managing the semi-annual General User proposal calls including the scientific peer review process

- User onboarding and support including ORNL site access and training

- User outreach including surveys, newsletters, meetings, and general communication

- HFIR and SNS facility metrics and publication tracking

- Providing technical requirements, QA testing, and troubleshooting support for internal scientific information systems
