Jeremy Rumsey is a science writer for Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Neutron Sciences Directorate. He was hired as a staff writer in 2015 and writes primarily about energy and materials research conducted at two world-leading neutron scattering facilities, the Spallation Neutron Source and the High Flux Isotope Reactor. He started writing for the lab as an intern in 2012, working for the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility shortly before the Titan supercomputer was crowned the world's most powerful petaflop machine, and helped develop communications for ORNL's next supercomputer, Summit. He graduated from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a degree in journalism.
