Research

My past and present research at ORNL has focused on the application of x-ray and neutron in-situ diffraction methods for determination of structure, texture, and residual stress in materials, including ion-conducting ceramics, permanent magnets, gas separation membranes, photovoltaic thin films, thermoelectrics, and engineering alloys. I have coauthored over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals in addition to over 30 conference proceedings papers and technical reports, and serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Nanomaterials. I earned degrees in physics, engineering physics, and materials engineering, and is a member of the AAAS, ASM International, MRS, the Neutron Scattering Society of America, and a Fellow of the International Center for Diffraction Data.
