Bio
Yuxuan Zhang is the lead instrument scientist at the IMAGING beamline (CG-1D) at the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR). He obtained his B.S. in Engineering from the Hunan University of Technology and his Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Utah. He joined ORNL in 2017 as a postdoctoral research associate in the Nuclear Science and Engineering Directorate, and in 2019, he was hired as an instrument scientist in the Neutron Sciences Directorate. His research focused on applying advanced imaging techniques in the fields of materials science (such as energy storage material, advanced nuclear fuel, and additive manufacturing).
