As an Integration Specialist and Instrument Systems Safety Committee Chair, her focus is on keeping people safe from industrial and radiological hazards. Melissa’s colleagues praise her dedication to putting everyone’s health and safety first, as well as her exceptional ability to translate communications between different groups at the Spallation Neutron Source. They consider her the go-to person for leading important installation projects that are essential to the future success of SNS.

Prior to her current role, Melissa has held multiple positions at Y-12 and ORNL, including supporting the SING-II project in both engineering and project management support roles. In her free time, Melissa enjoys visiting historical sites and museums with her family, particularly those with automotive and aerospace themes. She is also actively involved in her church’s music ministry.

I enjoy learning new things and working with different people in different areas. I also enjoy being able to make improvements. My role enables me to help improve how various resources work together and around each other with as few setbacks as possible.

I most highly value a willingness to collaborate. It’s not always easy, but it has always resulted in better outcomes, in my experience.”
