Qiu Zhang
Qiu Zhang is a laboratory research support technician in ORNL’s Neutron Sciences Directorate. As a member of the User Labs and Sample Support team, Qiu manages several laboratories at ORNL’s Spallation Neutron Source, High Flux Isotope Reactor, and the Shull Wollan Center. Qiu is also part of the Center for Structural Molecular Biology’s biodeuteration program and collaborates with scientists and external user groups to develop approaches for labeling biomolecules for neutron scattering experiments. In her spare time, Qiu leads educational programs for her church, enjoys reading a good book, and hangs out with friends.

I have worked on many projects since I came to ORNL. Usually, I start a project to establish a protocol for protein expression and purification, and then a postdoc or graduate student will take over for further study. I always feel very happy when a project works. I like to help users and researchers with my lab experience and knowledge."
