Mail-In Proposals
Mail-In proposals are short duration experiments in which users send samples by mail for instrument staff to collect data on the user's behalf. The default run time for mail-in experiments varies by instrument, from a few hours up to a maximum allowed run time of 24 hours. It is anticipated that mail-in experiments will lead to a publication.
Mail-In proposals are currently available on ARCS, BASIS, EQ-SANS, GP-SANS, HYSPEC, NOMAD, POWGEN, SEQUOIA, SNAP, VISION, VULCAN and WAND².

Note that most instruments require additional documentation, such as sample loading sheets. Be sure to read the instructions on the instrument mail-in webpage and contact the point of contact with questions.
